Description
This Lanna style Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted in the Earth-Touching (Bhumisparsha Mudra) posture, representing the moment of enlightenment when the Buddha called upon the earth to witness his triumph over illusion and temptation. The composition reflects the refined proportions and serene spiritual character associated with the northern Thai sculptural tradition.
Distinctive elements — including the tall flame-shaped finial, gently smiling expression, and slender seated form — express the stylistic vocabulary of this lineage. The figure rests upon a tiered lotus pedestal with repeating decorative motifs, reinforcing the regional aesthetic often seen in northern Tai Buddhist sculpture.
The bronze surface displays a developed green patina with areas of tonal variation, giving the statue a calm and time-softened character.
With a height of 28 cm and weight of 1.4kg, it offers a balanced presence suitable for altar placement, meditation spaces, or contemplative display.
Dimensions: 9.5 × 7.5 × 28 cm (L × W × H)
