Description
This Shan-style Phra Upakut is depicted in the earth-touching, or Maravijaya, posture, with the right hand extending over the knee toward the earth. The gesture evokes steadfastness and victory over adversity, complementing Phra Upakut’s traditional association with protection and the overcoming of obstacles.
Distinctive elements—including the elongated head finial, softly modelled facial features, flowing robe and richly ornamented lotus pedestal—express the stylistic vocabulary of this lineage. The bronze surface displays a developed patina and mature surface tone, giving the statue a timeless appearance while accentuating its sculptural details.
With a height of 24 cm, it offers a dignified display suitable for home shrines, meditation spaces or collections of Southeast Asian Buddhist art.
