Description
This Rattanakosin style Buddha is depicted in the Bhumisparsha Mudra (Earth-Touching posture), representing the moment of enlightenment, where the Buddha calls the earth to witness his victory over Mara. The composition reflects the grounded proportions and devotional clarity associated with the Rattanakosin sculptural tradition.
Distinctive elements — including the simplified head profile without a pronounced flame finial, rounded facial structure, and compact seated form — express a more restrained sculptural interpretation within this lineage. The multi-tiered base, adorned with traditional ornamental bands and layered detailing, reinforces its temple-oriented presentation.
The bronze surface displays a mature, naturally developed patina with visible remnants of aged gilding, creating a rich contrast between the darkened metal and gold leaf traces, characteristic of devotional use over time.
With a height of 34 cm and solid weight, it offers a balanced and stable altar presence, suitable for home worship or display.
Dimensions: 30 × 16 × 34 cm (L × W × H)
