Description

This Kruba Srivichai statue depicts the revered Northern Thai monk seated in a meditative posture upon an ornate pedestal. The composition reflects traditional Lanna-inspired devotional sculpture, presenting the monk with a calm expression and composed seated form.

Distinctive features include finely modelled facial details, closely cropped hair texture, layered monastic robes, and a decorative raised base adorned with scrolling motifs. A beaded necklace is also visible across the chest, contributing additional visual character to the figure. The bronze surface displays developed patina with areas of natural tonal variation, while remnants of applied gold leaf remain visible on the torso and lap, reflecting devotional use over time.

The underside contains an embedded devotional element sealed within the base, a feature occasionally encountered in Thai devotional statuary. Areas of aged surface character and patination further enhance the traditional appearance of the piece.

With a height of 20 cm, it offers a distinctive display presence suitable for home altars, meditation spaces, or collections of Thai Buddhist art and monk representations.
