Description
This Luang Phor Thuad statue is depicted in a seated meditation posture, representing mindfulness, composure, and contemplative practice. The composition reflects the traditional visual characteristics commonly associated with Luang Phor Thuad representations in Southern Thailand.
Distinctive features include the monk’s serene facial expression, elongated earlobes, and carefully modelled monastic robe. The bronze surface displays developed patina with natural tonal variation throughout the figure and base. Areas of applied gold leaf remain visible across the robe, lap, and upper body, reflecting devotional use and contributing to the statue’s distinctive visual character.
The underside contains an embedded devotional element set within the base, a feature occasionally encountered in Thai devotional statuary. Combined with the mature surface tone and balanced seated form, the statue presents a traditional and contemplative appearance.
With a height of 20 cm, it offers an impressive display presence suitable for home altars, meditation spaces, or collections of Thai Buddhist art and monk representations.
