Description
This Thai style Phra Pidta Arahant is depicted in the eye-covering contemplative posture, a gesture symbolising inward concentration and the guarding of the senses. The composition reflects the devotional sculptural traditions associated with representations of Arahant Maha Kaccayana, a revered disciple of the Buddha often connected with Phra Pidta imagery.
Distinctive elements — including the rounded monastic form and serene seated posture with hands covering the eyes — express the stylistic vocabulary of this lineage. The bronze surface displays a dark mature patina, giving the statue a quietly contemplative and devotional character.
With a height of 19 cm, it offers a compact yet substantial presence suitable for altar placement or personal devotional display.
Dimensions: 17 × 11 × 19 cm (L × W × H)
