Description
This Thai bronze Lord Indra (Phra In) is depicted seated upon his celestial throne above Erawan, the legendary three-headed elephant, while displaying the Abhaya Mudra, representing reassurance, protection, and fearlessness. The composition reflects the dignified presence traditionally associated with the king of the heavenly realm in Thai Buddhist art.
Distinctive elements—including the elaborate royal crown, celestial ornaments, symbolic depiction of Erawan beneath the foot, and the ritual trident held in one hand—express the stylistic vocabulary of traditional Thai devotional sculpture. The bronze surface displays a developed dark patina with areas of natural surface variation, giving the statue a mature and characterful appearance.
With a height of 29 cm, it offers an elegant display piece suitable for a home altar, meditation space, or a curated collection of Thai Buddhist and celestial deity sculpture.
Dimensions: 15 × 12 × 29 cm (L × W × H)
