Description
This Chiang Rung style Jambupati Buddha is depicted in the earth-touching (Bhumisparsha Mudra) posture, representing the moment of enlightenment when the Buddha called the earth to witness his victory over Mara. The composition reflects the refined proportions and spiritual composure associated with the northern Tai-Lue sculptural tradition of Chiang Rung.
Distinctive elements — including the tall crowned headdress and openwork aureole rising behind the figure — express the stylistic vocabulary of this lineage. The bronze surface displays a developed patina and mature tonal variation, giving the statue a quietly aged and contemplative presence.
With a height of 33 cm, it offers a balanced vertical form suitable for altar or contemplative display.
Dimensions: 13 × 10 × 33 cm (L × W × H)
