Description
This Khmer-influenced Thai Buddha figure is depicted seated in the Dhyana (Meditation) posture, representing serenity, contemplation, and spiritual balance. The sculpture features a crowned Buddha form with stylized jewelry, elongated earlobes, and a calm facial expression characteristic of mainland Southeast Asian Buddhist devotional art.
The figure displays strong Khmer-inspired artistic elements, particularly in the crown design, ornamentation, facial structure, and symmetrical seated composition. At the same time, the softer expression and devotional casting style suggest a later Thai interpretation influenced by Khmer aesthetics rather than a direct Angkor-period sculpture.
The bronze surface has developed a naturally aged patina over time, with traces of applied devotional gold leaf remaining on the figure. Its compact size and peaceful presence make it suitable for Buddhist altar placement, meditation spaces, or collectors of traditional Southeast Asian devotional sculpture.
