Description
This statue depicts Somdet Phra Phutthachan (Toh Phromrangsi), one of the most revered monks in Thai Buddhist history and the legendary master associated with the creation of the famous Somdej amulets.
Seated in a calm cross-legged posture while holding an alms bowl, the image reflects the contemplative and disciplined life of the monk. The dignified facial expression and slender ascetic features convey the spiritual presence traditionally associated with Somdet Toh.
The figure wears a simple monastic robe draped naturally over the shoulder, emphasizing humility and renunciation. On the chest appears a small relief panel depicting a Buddha image, symbolizing the deep connection between the revered master and Buddhist teachings.
The statue rests upon a decorative pedestal bearing his name in Thai script, identifying the figure as Somdet Phra Phutthachan (Toh) Phromrangsi. The underside is covered with traditional red cloth, a common feature for consecrated devotional statues.
