Phra Rahu

Phra Rahu is a deity in Thai and Hindu mythology who is often depicted as a serpent with a dragon’s head, and is believed to be responsible for eclipses. In Hindu mythology, Rahu is considered a shadow planet, while in Thai mythology, he is considered a deity. According to legend, Phra Rahu was once a demon who attempted to steal the nectar of immortality from the gods. When he was caught, the gods severed his head from his body, but because he had already consumed the nectar, his head remained immortal. As a result, his head was made into a deity and became the cause of solar and lunar eclipses.

In Thai culture, Phra Rahu is often revered for his ability to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits. It is common for people to make offerings to him in the form of black sticky rice, black beans, and black sesame seeds, as black is considered his sacred color. Phra Rahu amulets are believed to provide various benefits to the wearer, such as protection against negative energies, black magic, and evil spirits, by creating a protective shield around the wearer. Additionally, wearing a Phra Rahu amulet is thought to enhance career success, financial abundance, and overall good fortune by attracting good luck, success, and prosperity. Moreover, the deity is associated with overcoming obstacles and challenges, and wearing the amulet can help overcome difficulties and bring success in endeavors. Lastly, it is believed to remove negativity and obstacles in life, thus wearing the amulet can help dispel negative energies and protect against bad luck.
